What is YouthQuake?
It’s the youth ministry of Gold Coast Christian Family Church open to all high school age young people. We meet on a Friday night at the church building (directions below) from 7–9pm for year 8-9’s and from 7-10pm for year 10-12’s. You don’t have to go to church on Sundays or know anything about God to come along, it’s open to everyone! Our leaders are dedicated to sharing their lives with our youth, caring for them and building strong relationships, so they can be a solid support throughout their teenage years.
What’s YouthQuake Explosion?
It’s our night program where we have hang out time with Xbox, Sing Star, pool and table tennis tables, board games etc. Then we have organised games as a group, a short up front talk, then we break into small groups (with a leader that looks after their group for the year) and discuss issues that effect young people, ending the night with supper and hang out time again.
What’s YouthQuake Live?
Between 7-8pm we have a concert style event with our own youth band doing covers of popular songs and some up front games to laugh along with. Each night will be different with dramas, video clips and short intro talks to the small group times. The band is open to anyone, contact Matt for more details.
How much does it cost?
Each week we ask for a $3 donation, this goes towards food, drinks, materials for activities and hang out/sports equipment.
Other stuff we do for our young people
Reality Bites
Half way through our Sunday morning service (9:30 – 11:00) the year 8 to 10 young people leave for their own study that aims to develop their understanding of how the Christian faith effects the world they live in.
Sunday Night Service
6:30 – 7:45 specifically designed to target the high school and young adult audience, a youth worship band with a great sound, an intro game to bring some laughs and sermons to provide insight into life lived in the Christian faith.
